Illinois license plate stickers fees goes up
ILLINOIS--Illinois drivers will have to pay more for license plate stickers starting next year as state lawmakers continue to work down in Springfield. On Wednesday, November 28th state lawmakers raised the fee by two dollars.
The hike will push the price of license plates in Illinois to $101.00.
The increase is expected to generate 20 million dollars next year. The money raised will help with upkeep at state parks and offset cuts to the Illinois department of natural resources. Governor Quinn still has to sign the bill in order for it to become effective.
